PREMIERE ADVERTISER INCENTIVE:

For all premiere ad contracts signed prior to March 1, advertisers will remain eligible for a 10 percent discounted rated over the lifetime of their agreement.

TARGETED DEMOGRAPHIC REACH:

Our readership database includes distribution to: married couples in the U.S. and Canada, ages 35 to 70, household income of $100,000 and above, with a demonstrated interest in South America property investment. The database of 25,000 qualified consumers is filtered and purged for accuracy every 90 days.

ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES:

  1. Display and/or classified ads in our interactive, on-line magazine published semi-monthly each January, March, May, July, September and December on the first of each month.

  3. Singular, customized ad delivery to every subscriber in our database via email, complete with graphics, web links and free ad design.
  4. A combination of any of the three methods listed above.

ADVERTISING RATES:

  1. Full-page and half-page ad rates are available.
  2. Advertisers may submit their own ad in .pdf format, or our design team will create your ad for a $25 fee. Advertisers retain ownership of all ads created in their behalf.
  3. Full-page and half-page ad rates are available at a rate of “one-time run,” “three-time run,” or “six-time run” basis.
  4. Full-page ad rates respective to #3 above are: $175, $150, or $125.
  5. Half-page ad rates respective to #3 above are: $125, $100 and $75.
  6. Classifed ads may be published at a rate of $0.10 per word.

BLOGSITE DISPLAY ADS:

1. All blog site display ads are placed in the left sidebar, and remain in place for 60 days. Placement runs $150, and is discounted 50 percent for all on-line magazine advertisers. Blog site display ads are designed for free, and include links directly to the advertiser’s business web site. Ads positions are rotated every seven days.

CUSTOMIZED AD DELIVERY TO OUR DATABASE VIA EMAIL:

  1. Fully-customized email ads to every subscriber in our database (free design with unlimited graphics and web links) is rated at $375 and retained in our archives for one year.

Ecuador Living: Submission Guidelines

Ecuador Living supports the work of professional bloggers and freelance writers. Some 25 percent of our editorial content for each issue is reserved for emerging writers.

Submissions Guidelines:

  • All first-time contributors should include resume and all appropriate blog/web links with submissions or pitches.
  • Word counts from 500 to 1,250 words are accepted.
  • Original (not previously published stories) are preferred, however, a previously published blog post, or other story may be submitted for consideration. We do not accept stories previously published in other recognized publications.
  • Photos are encouraged with each submission (3 max), and must be high resolution.
  • Original graphic designs may be submitted for consideration.
  • EL accepts both pitches and completed first drafts. Pitches are encouraged. Acceptance is not a guarantee of publication.
  • EL follows the guidelines of the Associated Press Stylebook.Ecuador Living submissions guidelines
  • First submissions are not eligible for professional fee reimbursements, but are measured for reader activity. First-time contributors who generate significant activity become eligible for future opportunities and their subsequently published stories are eligible for a professional fee of up to $100 (U.S.) at the discretion of the publisher.
  • EL reserves full editorial privilege on all submissions.
  • All submissions/pitches receive a response within one week.

  • Expatriate profiles.
  • Entrepreneurial profiles.
  • “How-To” submissions. e.g., how to obtain a driver’s license, or purchase a vehicle.
  • Places to go. e.g., a day at Machalilla National Park.
  • Common misconceptions about life abroad, or expatriate living.
  • Top 10 Lists – e.g., top 10 things to see in Quito, or top 10 mistakes most new expatriates make.
  • Cultural Do’s and Don’ts, preferably a personal experience, or that of a subject you may interview.
  • EL accepts and encourages submission of high definition video clips of up to five minutes.
  • We are looking for full-time columnists or regular contributors in Quito, Cuenca, Guayaquil, Esmeraldes and Otavalo.
